New Wave 80s

Back to 80s… wow!!! I don’t even know how to start. The 80s were awesome.
I especially loved the cartoons growing up. I watched 80s show like Smurfs, Care Bears, Transformers, He-Man, Thundercats, Ghostbusters all the time. Those cartoons were perfect for kids’ entertainment.

The music videos of that era were so original, MTV and VH1 actually PLAYED videos – yikes!! It was such a fresh, original medium. And Whitney Houston – I LOVED Whitney Houston. Since I was young when most of the music came out, I rediscovered the great 80s sound. I love to collect 80s New Wave music on vinyl and watch 80s movies.

I miss the New Wave style of music with choppy beats, pumping bass lines and synthesizers. In the 90s I went through my teen years, but still remained “stuck” in the 80s. It was the last decade for really good music. A lot of music now sounds the same – it’s so boring!!

Even though those days are long gone, I will always have my memories. 80s FOREVER!!!

Memorable Sabah

Have you ever been on a vaction?

To me a vacation is a time to be with friends. When I think of vacations, I think of relaxation, the flight or drive. Not only is it very exciting to go on vacation, but you getting closer to the people that go with you.

My most memorable vacations were in kota kinabalu, sabah (together with my buddy Rizan and good friends of mine Joshua, Kok Hwa and Chris) on February last year. Kota kinabalu a totally an amazing place with lots to offer it is really to resist that sea the real blue sea with white sandy beaches (karambunai beaches just lovely), the party nights and noisy club (gosh... the Live Band totally awesome), the great culture and very exclusive cuisine (the “sayap bakar” totally delicious) all together make kota kinabalu a memorable experience.

Brokeback Mountain - Gay or Not Gay??

Couple year's backs, some of my friends were declined Brokeback Mountain as the movie has very strong 'gay elements'.

And is it true???

As for me, Brokeback Mountain was not just another gay movie. It was something very special. The scenery, the story, the actors, everything. This story showed me that two people could love each other deeply and forever, regardless of their sex. Brokeback was not a "gay" story by any means. There were no "gay cowboys" as I have so often heard people say, especially people who have never seen the movie for themselves. It was about love, real love, powerful love, in every sense of the word.

I had been so overwhelmed and emotionally moved by Brokeback Mountain, that it was in every thought through the days and weeks that followed. Although time has somewhat lessened the impact, I have not forgotten Brokeback Mountain. I never will.

Why I Love Amazon??

amazon.com
I've been buying stuffs from Amazon for over five years and it's almost been a great experience. It seems like there's a box arriving from Amazon almost every week.

It fulfills many purposes for me, birthday gift, product research, feeding my book, music c.d and DVD addictions, and now i get to add music.

I'm both happy and tremendously nervous for my fragile budget.

Fitness Book for Asian

I have been searching for a health and fitness book that relates to the Asian lifestyle and diet for most like ages. Finally, an awareness book on fitness and wellness from a guy who walks the walk by writing FTNESS 24/7 - Kudos to Kevin Zahri, best known as Malaysia's Fitness Celebrity or Cikgu Fitness.

FITNESS 24/7 is written specially for the Asian Market. It is not just a book about exercise regiments. It is a proactive challenge to individuals to make themselves rethink the way they lives and to instill their mind 'Impossible is Nothing'.

The best part, the book included an Asian food calorie guide that is referenced throughout the book (gosh!!! a single roti canai contains about 300 calories.. that's a lot.. not to mention nasi lemak, ayam goreng or even teh tarik).

Overall, an enjoyable and user-friendly read for anybody who wants to start living a fit and healthy lifestyle but does not know how.

'Love Affair' with Sheila Majid

My 'love affair' with 'Little Miss Dynamite' as we used to call her began from her 1985 debut DIMENSI BARU days (yaaa... when i was eleventh and still in primary five.. Gosh, just realized how young I am now). At a time when 'rock kapak & pop leleh' was rife, the music industry was suddenly abuzz with the arrival of a new face and poweful vocals - Sheila Majid.

From the moment Sheila entered the music scene, she became my idol and was the real deal for me. She filled the void in our music industry with a nuch-needed zest and energy. I felt proud of her and merayu my dad to buy her cassette immediately (duhh... im using my teriakan and rajukan tactics la). And yet, it was my first original cassette and cost my dad a zillion bucks.. hehehe

And now... after 23 great years, what else can I say?? Having been a #1 fan of Sheila Majid all these years, I'm truly excited to have a chance to write my first story about our 'Love Affair' on this wall. Last but not least... 'May Music Keep Us Together'.
